Why Serveraxis Exists

Serveraxis is an independent publication about the machines that sit behind websites and applications. It is written for site owners moving off shared plans, developers choosing where to run a project, small business owners comparing options, and anyone curious about what happens inside a server room.

Reader questions come first

Most hosting articles assume you already know what you need. Serveraxis starts from the questions people actually have: how much memory is enough, when a virtual machine stops being enough, and what a facility’s claims about power and cooling really mean.

Three subjects we cover

  • VPS Hosting looks at virtual private servers: resource allocation, virtualization types, managed versus unmanaged plans, backups and sensible upgrade points.
  • Dedicated Servers explains single-tenant hardware, including processors, storage layouts, bandwidth terms, remote management and when the extra cost is justified.
  • Data Centers covers the buildings themselves: redundancy tiers, network connectivity, cooling, physical security and how location affects latency.

How we approach the work

The goal is practical guidance you can act on. Technical statements are checked against vendor documentation, published specifications, standards bodies and operator status reports. Where a figure comes from a provider’s own marketing, the article says so and treats it with care.

Hosting products change quickly. Plans are renamed, prices move and hardware generations turn over, so older pages are reviewed and revised when details stop being accurate.
